
Mooncakes
Inspired by my grandfather — the namesake of Ba Kỳ — who made mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival, Tết, and weddings. I learned his traditional methods from him during COVID, when he was 92. I now make both baked and snow skin styles, from classic mung bean and taro to California-inspired flavors like black sesame, oolong brown sugar, and strawberry milk tea.
